The perfect portal
The project brief for scheme focused on a full reconfiguration and extension to the Mew Style property. Gary Kellett Architects challenged the tired aesthetic of the existing dwelling and gained planning approval for a new mansard roof extension for a master bedroom suite, but also gained consent for a new subterranean lower ground floor. A new glazed rear extension has been proposed which provided the perfect portal between the open plan living arrangement and the courtyard to the rear.
